Coming out of this terminal

Terminal 2 has been in use since March 2022 and handles low-cost carriers including Ryanair and Wizz Air. Arrivals are on level E0. So far it reads like any other terminal.

Here is the part that is not on the map: Terminal 2 has no taxi rank, no railway station and no pickup lane of its own. Not a limited one, not a quieter one — none. Everybody who leaves Terminal 2 by road leaves via Terminal 1, and the only question is whether they knew that before they walked out of the door with their luggage.

The connection is a covered walkway of about ten minutes at a normal pace, or a free shuttle bus running every five to ten minutes. Ten minutes is not a hardship. Ten unexpected minutes at 23:00 in February, after a delayed Ryanair flight, with somebody circling a car park they are being charged for, is a different thing — and that is the situation this page exists to prevent.

Where your driver stands

Because road pickup happens at Terminal 1, that is where your driver is: inside the level E0 arrivals hall with a name sign. We do not ask you to find a car at Terminal 2, because there is nowhere at Terminal 2 for a car to be.

The walk or the shuttle is yours to make either way, whoever collects you. What a pre-booked transfer removes is the second problem — arriving at Terminal 1 to find the taxi rank has emptied, which after a late low-cost bank is a real possibility rather than a theoretical one.

If you land at a different terminal

The usual "wrong terminal" worry is inverted here. If your flight is moved to Terminal 1, that is unambiguously good news — you are already where the cars are. If it moves the other way, allow the ten minutes. Either way we take the terminal from the live flight, so the driver is in the right hall before you reach it.

FAQ

Questions about this terminal

Is there a taxi rank at BER Terminal 2?

No. Terminal 2 has no taxi rank, no railway station and no pickup lane of its own. Everyone leaving by road goes to Terminal 1 first, via a covered walkway of about ten minutes or a free shuttle every five to ten minutes.

How do I get from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 at BER?

A covered walkway takes about ten minutes at a normal pace, and a free shuttle bus runs every five to ten minutes. Both are signposted from the level E0 arrivals area.

Where will my driver be if I land at Terminal 2?

In the Terminal 1 arrivals hall on level E0, with a name sign — because that is where road pickup at this airport happens. It is stated in your confirmation rather than left for you to work out on arrival.

Which airlines use BER Terminal 2?

Mainly low-cost carriers, including Ryanair and Wizz Air. It opened in March 2022. We confirm your actual arrival terminal from the flight number, since it can be reassigned.
