Private car service

A private car, priced before you get in

Every operator in this market promises a fixed price. Very few explain how theirs is calculated, or why they are legally able to offer one when the taxi at the rank outside cannot. This page does both.

See fixed prices

All 19 airports on this site, plus any address in Germany.

01

How the price is decided

The fare is the road distance of your specific journey multiplied by a published per-kilometre rate for the class, plus a fixed base fare, with a floor underneath it so a very short journey still covers sending a car. That is the entire calculation. It runs before you book, it includes tolls, airport access charges, VAT and the driver, and nothing is added afterwards.

The rate card below is the operator’s own, and it is the same one the checkout uses — the figures on this page are read from it rather than typed beside it, so the page and the price you are quoted cannot drift apart. There is no night tariff, no weekend rate, no airport surcharge and no surge in trade-fair weeks.

02

Why this is not a taxi, and why that is the point

German transport law separates two things that look identical from the pavement. A taxi may be hailed or taken from a rank, and it operates under a duty to carry, a duty to be available and — crucially — a fixed municipal tariff. It charges what the tariff says, metered, and it is not free to agree a price with you in advance.

A private hire car under § 49 of the Personenbeförderungsgesetz works the other way round. It may only accept journeys booked in advance at the operator’s place of business, it is not obliged to accept every job, and after each one it must return to base unless a further booking has already come in. In exchange it is not bound to the taxi tariff — which is precisely why it can agree a price with you before you travel and keep to it.

So the fixed price is not a marketing device layered on top of a taxi. It is a consequence of the licence the vehicle runs under. The operating company here is a registered hire-car business, and the pre-booking requirement is why this site sells journeys rather than a phone number to wave at a kerb.

03

And why it is not a ride-hailing app

A ride-hailing app prices at the moment you open it, which means the number moves with demand — the fare for the same journey is not the same at eight in the morning as at midnight, and it is at its worst exactly when a city is busiest and you have a flight to catch.

A booking here is priced when it is made and does not move afterwards. Nor is it an auction for whichever driver is nearest: a named driver is assigned to the job in advance, with your flight number if there is one. That is a different product with a different failure mode — it cannot surge, and it also cannot appear in four minutes because you tapped a button.

What you can put on the road

Five classes, from a clean current saloon up to the flagship, plus a seven-seat van and a minibus for groups. Every one comes with the same driver standard, the same flight tracking and the same waiting allowance — the class changes the vehicle, not the service around it.

The calculation

The published rate card

The operator’s own card, read straight from it. Every fare on this site is this arithmetic and nothing else.

Class Per km Base fare Minimum What that comes to
Economy €1.60 €25 €45 €195
Business Class €1.70 €25 €50 €205
First Class €3.00 €25 €100 €343
Business Van €1.90 €25 €60 €226

A journey of 106 km. Prices shown are the starting fare for this route and include tolls and airport access charges. Your exact price is confirmed before you book.

What is included

The same on every route, in every class, at every hour.

Fixed price

Agreed in full before you book. Traffic, tolls and airport charges are already in it — the meter does not exist.

Flight tracking

We watch the flight number you give us. Land early or three hours late and the pickup moves with you, at no extra cost.

Meet and greet

Your driver waits inside arrivals holding a name sign, helps with the luggage and walks you to the car.

60 minutes waiting

Free waiting time after touchdown — enough for passport control and baggage reclaim without anyone watching a clock.

Door to door

From the exact address to the exact address. Not to the nearest station, and not to a rank at the end of the road.

Child seats

Infant, child and booster seats specified at booking. They are not charged as an extra.

Free cancellation

Cancel up to 24 hours before pickup at no charge. Plans change; that is not something to be fined for.

Professional drivers

Licensed, insured, English- and German-speaking, and briefed on your journey before they set off.

Fixed price

When something else is genuinely better

For a short hop inside a city centre, the taxi on the rank is quicker and usually cheaper. Pre-booking exists to remove uncertainty over a longer distance or an awkward hour; across two kilometres of the same district there is not much uncertainty to remove.

Between major cities, the ICE beats us on both time and money for a single traveller with a small bag — every route page on this site says so, and names the train. Where a private car wins is luggage, groups, doors that are nowhere near a station, and hours when the timetable has stopped.

FAQ

Common questions

Is the price really fixed, or is it an estimate?
Fixed. It is calculated from the road distance and the class before you book and it does not change afterwards. Traffic on the day changes how long the journey takes; it does not change what you pay. If you change the journey itself — a different address, an extra stop — that is a different journey and it is repriced before you agree to it.
What is included in the figure I am shown?
Tolls, airport access charges, VAT and the driver. There is no separate booking fee, no fuel surcharge and no charge for card payment.
Why can a taxi not simply quote me a fixed price too?
Because a taxi is bound to the municipal tariff for journeys within its licensed area and charges what the meter says. A pre-booked hire car is not bound to that tariff, which is what makes an agreed price possible. It is a difference in licence, not in goodwill.
Can I book one for right now?
This is a pre-booked service, so the honest answer is that it is not built for it — the vehicle has to be dispatched and a driver assigned. If your plans are immediate, call and we will say plainly whether we can get a car to you rather than accept the booking and hope.
