Coming out of this terminal

Terminals A, B and C at Hannover have separate airside areas but sit side by side on a single landside road. Terminal A takes EU departures and arrivals across six jet-bridge gates, and has its own arrivals area rather than sharing one.

The number that matters most here is not a gate count. It is three: three minutes is the free stopping time in the zone in front of the terminals, the shortest of any airport in this network by some margin. Ten minutes at Frankfurt, ten at Hamburg, eight at Nuremberg, three here. A flight that lands ten minutes late does not just delay the person collecting you — it converts their free stop into a paid one before you have reached the baggage belt.

Terminal A has a bar landside, which is the honest answer to "where do I wait", and worth knowing given the three minutes. Note also that car parks P4, P5 and P6 are out of use for works into late 2026, which narrows the options further.

Where your driver stands

Your driver waits inside the Terminal A arrivals area with a name sign, taken from your flight number. The three-minute rule is a problem for a friend in a car and not for a booked transfer, because nobody is sitting at the kerb waiting for you to appear.

That is the clearest example on this site of what the fixed price is actually buying. It is not the vehicle. It is that the clock outside is not running against your passport queue.

If you land at a different terminal

A, B and C are separate buildings but they stand in a row on one road, so a terminal change is a short walk outside rather than a shuttle or a train. We take the terminal from the live flight, so the driver is in the right arrivals area before you are through it.

FAQ

Questions about this terminal

How long can a car stop outside Hannover Airport?

Three minutes free in the zone in front of the terminals — the shortest free stop of any airport we serve. It is short enough that a modest delay turns a free stop into a paid one, which is worth knowing if somebody is collecting you privately.

Which flights use Terminal A at Hannover?

EU departures and arrivals, across six gates with jet bridges. Terminal B handles EU traffic and some non-Schengen departures; Terminal C takes arrivals from outside the EU and most charter traffic.

Are Terminals A, B and C connected?

They have separate airside areas but stand side by side on one landside road, so moving between them is a short walk outside rather than a shuttle ride. Terminals A and C both have a landside bar.

Which car parks are open at Hannover Airport?

P4, P5 and P6 are out of use for works into late 2026, which narrows the choices for anyone driving to meet a flight. With three free minutes at the kerb, that combination is the argument for a pre-booked car rather than an improvised lift.
