Should you take the train instead? Often, yes. A little over an hour by train against about an hour and a half by road, on one of the busiest short intercity corridors in eastern Germany. Bridge work near Riesa disrupted this line in early summer 2026; it finished in July. The fastest scheduled ICE is 68 minutes. We would rather say that than sell you the wrong journey.
