Should you take the train instead? Often, yes. Scheduled at about an hour on the high-speed line, though engineering diversions through 2026 have been adding up to a quarter of an hour to that. Against 1h50 by road the train still wins on paper for one or two people travelling centre to centre. The fastest scheduled ICE is 62 minutes.
